Was it Apple’s marketing campaign?

Why do people stand in line for an Apple product, even the iPhone4…the FOURTH version of the product?  Most companies dream of such customer loyalty and ask their marketing organization to find a way to create such a buzz, and yet the success of the iPhone4 is not a result of a PR blitz from Apple. While Apple’s marketing supports the enthusiasm of their customers, their marketing doesn’t create it.  Instead, it is Apple’s products that captivate their customers, time and time again.  Apple’s strategy of consistently delivering emotionally engaging products results in a social phenomenon, one that begins at that point of purchase and continues through their daily use.
